WebAbstract. The vertical impact of a rigid elliptical cylinder on a compressible liquid surface is considered in a plane asymmetric formulation. Solution of the boundary problem reduces to solving an infinite system of linear Volterra integral equations of the second kind. The results are analyzed in terms of the initial asymmetry angle.
